Every day is Fair Day at the library! â€‹

​Read.  Have fun.  Win prizes!

Help us reach a Community Reading Goal of 150,000 minutes!

(Last year we read 107,000 minutes with a goal of 75,000!)

To register, sign into your Beanstack account.  Don't have a Beanstack account?  Sign up at www.cantonmopubliclibrary.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app.  Or come to the library to register!

  • When you register, you will earn a coupon for free admission to “Charlotte’s Web” at the Lewis Street Playhouse on June 2 or 3 at 7:00 PM.  

​

  • Come to our Kick-Off Celebration on Thursday, June 1 at 5:30 PM!  Enjoy a freshly grilled hot dog, popcorn and a sno-cone!  Scavenger hunt, games, StoryWalk, “Wheel of Wow!” and more fair fun! 

​

  • Beginning June 1, log your reading minutes in Beanstack.  As you read, you will earn badges, prizes, and raffle tickets.  You can also earn badges for writing book reviews and for completing fun activities.  

​

  • While reading, kids aged 5 -12 can also earn tickets for any of the Grand Prizes at the Lewis County Fair’s Family Fun Night on Wednesday, July 12.  Kids who read 10 books by July 7 might also win a free season pass to the fair, or a free carnival armband!  Pick up a Lewis County Fair Reading Log at the library.   Find more information HERE.

  • Create a Literature Fair display to be exhibited at the County Fair!  Tell the world about your favorite book with a colorful, multimedia display!  The library will supply almost everything you need.  Work at home or at the library on Thursday afternoons!  Deadline for completion of displays is July 7th.  All ages are welcome to participate.  For more information about the Literature Fair, click HERE.

Enjoy programming all summer long for all ages!  

Programs include cooking, fine arts, carnival science, sewing, animals, World’s Fair Fun and More!

  • Tuesday Evenings 6:00-7:30 - Teen programs for ages 12 to 17

  • Wednesdays 1:00 to 2:00 - Programs for kids age 6 and up

  • Thursday Mornings 10:00 to 11:00 - Story Time for our pre-readers and their families

  • Thursdays 1:00 to 2:00 - Literature Fair preparation time & other fun stuff for all ages

  • ​Bar (Cookie) Crawl - Friday, June 9 

  • Seed & seedling exchange with Master Gardener Sharon Upchurch - Wednesday, June 14 

  • Storyteller WT Johnson with “Quilts & the Underground Railroad” - Friday, June 23

  • BlockFest Family Night!  Canton R-V School and the Library team up!  Create and build using  KEVA Planks, Legos, foam blocks, large brick blocks, Unifix Cubes, Duplos & More - Friday, July 7
