Wednesdays 1:00 to 2:00 PM- Activities for Kids

  • Ages 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult

June 9 -   Learn about blobfish and make some slime!

June 16 - Skype-a-Scientist!  Learn about the microbiome from Dr. Gina Lewin, a mibrobiologist from Georgia Tech                      University.  You'll learn about the tiny creatures that you can't live without!  Click here before the                                    session, to watch a video, play a game, and think of a question YOU might ask Dr. Lewin.  If you can't come                  to the library, you can join in from home.  Contact the library to obtain the Zoom link.

June 23 - Learn about the Great Monarch Migration, make melted crayon butterfly art, and more!

June 30 - Learn about bird carving from a local expert and make a bird feeder.

July 7 -  Explore the world of coding with robot mice.

July 14 - Learn about Canton's dog pound and make some treats for the pooches in the pound.

July 21 - Learn what all the buzz is about when it comes to beekeeping!

July 28 - Animal Thumbprint Art

June 4 - First Friday Movie

June 18 - Red Tail Angels - Learn the story of the Tuskegee Airmen from guest presenter and actress, Jenn Bock of St.                   Louis.  This event will take place at the Lewis Street Playhouse!  

July 2 - First Friday Movie

July 16 & 17- Stuffed Animal Sleepover!  Don your pajamas and bring a stuffed animal for a bedtime story!                                           Before you leave, fill  out a nametag and a permission slip so your furry friend can spend the night                                   at the library! (With adult-ish supervision, of course).  So don't bring the stuffed animal you can't                                     sleep without!  Come back on Saturday at 10:00 AM to pick up your animals (and some breakfast) and                           get a report on their behavior in the night!

July 30 - Family Mic-Night Closing Party.  Sign yourself or your family up to perform!  Poetry, music, recitations, and                 more.  Sign up here or at the library.

4th Tuesday Adult Programming 

  • June 29 @ 6 PM - Cracking Australian Myths with Ros Hamilton

  • July 27 @ 6PM - Kombucha 101 - Learn how to brew this healthy beverage at home!  Kombucha starter and a SCOBY will be provided to participants.
